Support Utility Assistance at Annual Fundraiser. The 19th annual Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth is Saturday, March 7. The event raises funds to support utility assistance programs for M.U.D. and OPPD customers. Various participation options are available, including virtual. Winter Water Use Impacts Sewer Fees. Did you know the amount of water you use during the December through March billing period is used to help calculate your sewer fees? The city/municipality you live in sets sewer use rates and is responsible for the sewer system. M.U.D. is the billing agent that invoices and collects sewer use fees and provides them back to the city. Learn more here.

Board Elects New Chairperson. At their January meeting, the District’s Board of Directors elected Gwen Howard (Subdivision 3) as board chair and Tanya Cook (Subdivision 5) as vice chair.

Howard was first elected to the board in 2014 and is a retired social worker and former Nebraska State Senator. Cook was appointed to the board in 2019 and elected to represent Sub District 5 the following year. She is also a former Nebraska State Senator and works as a public relations consultant.
