Training Exercise Planned at Florence Water Treatment Plant 

Metropolitan Utilities District, in coordination with local emergency response partners, will conduct a training exercise at the Florence Water Treatment Plant on Thursday, September 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The drill will simulate a hazardous materials response.

Members of the public may notice emergency vehicles, first responders and hazmat teams at the facility during the exercise period.  

This is only an exercise. There is no threat to public safety and no impact on drinking water service. 

Regular training helps the District and first responders maintain a high level of readiness for responding to actual emergencies.
