Metropolitan Utilities District’s administrative offices will be closed for regular business Friday, May 31 to allow for the transfer to a new billing system. However, field operations will continue without any interruptions. The District will respond to all natural gas and water emergencies at 402.554.7777.
The District plans to update its billing system the weekend of June 1. After we convert to the new billing system, we will temporarily expand our Customer Service hours to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. During this transition period customers may experience longer wait times to reach a customer service agent.
For 24/7 service, customers can call 402.554.6666 and use the automated phone menu to access account information or make a bill payment. Customers may also visit the District’s website www.mudomaha.com and log into “MyAccount” to make a payment or view gas and water usage, monthly statements and other account details. Customers may also send an email to customer_service@mudnebr.com and Customer Service will respond as soon as possible.
Customers will notice the monthly bill statement looks the same, however customers will receive a new account number. If they use a bank or financial institution to pay their bills, customers will need to provide the new account number to the financial institution to process the payment.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we transition to a new system which will help us deliver more efficient and consistent customer service and communications,” said Deb Schneider, senior vice-president and chief financial officer.
“It will also allow us to provide future improvements and options, including paperless billing, recurring credit card payments, electronic check payments, and mobile applications.”
