Heat the Streets for a Cause. Save the date for the 19th annual Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Aksarben Village. One-hundred percent of proceeds from the event support utility assistance programs for Metropolitan Utilities District and Omaha Public Power District customers. Round Up and Help Out. Did you know rounding up your monthly utility bill can help those in need? Simply write “round up” on the front of your bill payment stub, or fill out the contact form at mudomaha.com/contact and select “Donate to Utility Assistance.” We challenge those who are able to round up their bill or donate at mudomaha.com/homefund.
District Fleet Awarded. The District’s transportation fleet was recently recognized by the NAFA Fleet Management Association with a 2025 Green Fleet Award. Our fleet was ranked 38th in the nation for sustainability efforts. Read more here.

Fitch Affirms ‘AA+’ Rating. Fitch Ratings affirmed M.U.D.’s gas system revenue bonds, issued in 2022 and 2023, at ‘AA+’ and said the rating outlook is stable. This reflects the second highest rating issued by the agency. Click here to read more.
Advancing Efficiency at Our Platte South Plant. Capital improvement work continues at our Platte South Water Production Facility. Currently in the second phase of the $180 million long-term improvement plan to modernize the plant, we are working to ensure future maintenance is redundant and resilient — meaning more efficiency and less disruptions for our customer-owners and employees.
