WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY?

Gas leaks, odor of gas, damaged lines, carbon monoxide symptoms and water main breaks are all considered emergencies.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not use any electrical switches, appliances, lights, telephones, or mobile devices, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call M.U.D.'s emergency hotline at 402.554.7777 or 9-1-1.

If someone is showing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, call 9-1-1 immediately. Symptoms are like the flu.

¿QUÉ ES UNA EMERGENCIA?

Las fugas de gas, el olor a gas, las tuberías de gas dañadas, los síntomas de monóxido de carbono y roturas en las tuberías principales de agua son consideradas emergencias.

Si huele a gas, NO trate de localizar la fuga/escape. Al contrario, abandone la casa o el edificio inmediatamente. M.U.D.’s contractor, Heimes Corp., has completed installation of the water main in the project area. Old hydrants and valves are currently being removed. Restoration of the project area is scheduled for this spring (seed and matting, any settlement issues, etc.). We appreciate your patience as we work to complete this project.

Update 1/23/2023:

Water main installation: 99% complete

Water services reconnection work: 80% complete

Water main abandonment: 0% complete

Restoration: to be performed in Spring 2023 due to current cold weather

Project status: Heimes is currently working on water service reconnections and abandonment.

Update, April 7, 2022:

As work progresses, the temporary traffic lights installed in Ponca Road will soon be moved approx. 1,000 feet to the north.

Update, March 18, 2022:

A technician(s) is currently looking for underground utilities in the project area – you may see test hole(s) which are used to expose any underground utilities. Two temporary stop lights have been installed in Ponca Road. Digging will start next week on the south end of the project near Calhoun Road.
