Work continues on our new West Dodge Pump Station near 153rd and Dodge. The facility will help us meet peak demands for water in our growing service area while providing increased efficiency and reliability across our water distribution system.

Scheduled completion is Spring 2023.

Hello, Neighbor!

To meet the neighborhood’s water needs and enhance reliability, Metropolitan Utilities District (M.U.D.) will soon be installing a 30-inch water transmission main near 156th Street and West Dodge Road. This work will aid in the construction of a new nearby water pump station to be built this year. Work will occur in three phases beginning mid-March 2022.

CONTRACTORS

Judds Brothers Construction will install the transmission main and Hawkins Construction will build the water pump station.

DATE / DURATION

PHASE 1
  • Installation of the 30-inch water transmission main under West Dodge Road
  • Anticipated start mid-March 2022 with anticipated completion June 2022
  • The boring under West Dodge Expressway north to North 155th Plaza will take approx. 6 weeks – during this time, North 155th Plaza will be closed.
  • Begin construction of water pump station on east end of Lifegate Church property in 2022 – start date to be determined.
PHASE 2
  • Installation of water main on south side of West Dodge Road in front of Wycliffe Apartments and continuing toward Onyx Automotive
  • Start date to be determined.
PHASE 3
  • Installation of water main on north side of West Dodge Road near Pepperwood Village
  • Start date to be determined with anticipated completion Fall 2023
  • All work and dates are weather permitting and barring any unplanned delays.

WHAT YOU MAY SEE OR EXPERIENCE

  • There will be much activity in the project areas.
  • Streets, sidewalks, lawns and landscaping may be affected – all will be restored when weather allows as the project progresses or after the project.
  • You will see excavation pits of various sizes, as well as trucks and equipment, water pipe, safety fence and cones/barricades.

WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION(S)

Phase 1 – we do not anticipate any scheduled water interruptions.
Phase 2 – TBD – affected customers will be notified about a day in advance – generally an outage is approximately 4 hours.
Phase 3 – TBD – affected customers will be notified about a day in advance – generally an outage is approximately 4 hours.
