Behind every turn of the tap: M.U.D. celebrates Water Operator Week

Large water transmission pipes run through an underground utility facility with concrete supports and industrial equipment.

Most people expect clean, safe water every time they turn on the tap. At Metropolitan Utilities District, delivering that reliability takes a dedicated team working behind the scenes around the clock.

During Water Operator Week in Nebraska, Oct. 5-9, M.U.D. recognizes the professionals who help make that service possible. Their knowledge, dedication, and commitment help ensure safe, reliable water is always flowing through the Omaha metro.

Our operators test water quality and monitor treatment systems. They help keep critical equipment and infrastructure running.

The work never stops. Operators and support teams monitor system performance 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

Much of their work happens out of public view. Yet their impact reaches homes, schools, businesses, and hospitals. In fact, more than 230,000 customer-owners benefit from their expertise every day.

M.U.D. thanks its water operators and support teams for the important work they do. Their efforts help keep the our service area safe, healthy, and connected.
