Economic growth engine for the metro area
The Platte West Water Treatment Plant at 216th & Q Sts. will extend the length of three football fields and cover a total of 630,511 sq. ft.
Similar to the Platte South Water Treatment Plant, the basins and filter beds will be under one roof. An underground reservoir will be built on the east side of the plant.

The plant and landscape design will blend in with future development. Estimated to cost $352 million, the plant will add a 100 million-gallon-per-day pumping capacity to our system, bringing the total pumping capacity to 334 million gallons per day -- pumping capacity envisioned to meet demands for the next 50 to 60 years. It is targeted to go on-line in 2008.
