Emergency Hotline:

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, odor of gas, damaged lines, carbon monoxide symptoms and water main breaks are all considered emergencies.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not use any electrical switches, appliances, lights, telephones, or mobile devices, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call M.U.D.'s emergency hotline at 402.554.7777 or 9-1-1.

If someone is showing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, call 9-1-1 immediately. Symptoms are like the flu.

If you have a water-related emergency, call 402.554.7777. Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

Energy Pledge Hotline Open: 402.504.7100

**Please note—If you were notified of eligibility by the State of Nebraska, M.U.D. will not receive the majority of those funds before December 1, 2017. In some cases, pledges may be received prior to December 1, 2017. If your pledge has been received, your M.U.D. account will reflect the payment. If you require status or more information regarding LIHEAP funds prior to December 1, 2017, please contact your caseworker.

Customers who receive State of Nebraska Energy Assistance Funds may now call 402.504.7100 to check on the status of an energy pledge to their account. When you call the hotline, you will be asked to provide the following information:

  • First and last name as listed on the M.U.D. account
  • Address
  • Account number if you have it available
  • Phone number where you may be reached

We will check our records and get back with you as soon as possible. Repeat calls are not necessary. If a pledge has been received, we will confirm the amount for you when we return your call. The pledge will be posted that evening. Thank you.
