Emergency Hotline:

24 hours a day / 7 days a week

What is an Emergency?

Gas leaks, odor of gas, damaged lines, carbon monoxide symptoms, water main breaks or no water service are all considered emergencies.

If you smell gas, do not attempt to locate the leak. Instead, leave the house or building right away. Do not use any electrical switches, appliances, lights, telephones, or mobile devices, as an electrical charge could create a spark. When you are in a safe place, call M.U.D.'s emergency hotline at 402.554.7777 or 9-1-1.

If someone is showing symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, call 9-1-1 immediately. Symptoms are like the flu.

If you have a water-related emergency, call 402.554.7777. Our personnel are ready to assist you 24/7. When in doubt, call us immediately.

Update: Infrastructure projects along 60th St.

construction ahead sign

Work continues on a new water main installation in 60th St. to the north (Center St. to Walnut St.) and will be completed in late August. Backlund Plumbing is currently reconnecting water services to the new main while M.U.D. crews are working on final connections.

M.U.D. crews will start the south section of the project the week of July 24, and completion is targeted in early October. The water main replacement will run from Arbor St. to Oak St. Please use caution when driving through the area.

  • Traffic will be diverted to the furthest western two lanes of 60th Street with single lane traffic north and south from Spring Street to Center Street.
  • Alternate routes are available in the area and should be utilized during construction. Local access to this area will be provided to residents and emergency vehicles during construction.
  • Construction will occur in phases over the next several months.
