3.10.08 M.U.D. offers on-line bill payment and account information M.U.D. residential customers can save time and postage by paying their bills on-line with credit cards. The convenience went into effect March 1. There is no cost for using on-line bill payment. Residential customers also can view their bill; payment and billing history for the past 24 months, plus a list of services provided to them by the District. To use the convenience, go to http://www.mudomaha.com. Click on "pay your bill on-line or by phone," which is located on the right side of the home page. You also may go directly to the payment site: http://myaccount.mudomaha.com. You will need to have your social security number on the M.U.D. account before you can activate the system. Call 554.6666 to make sure your social security number is on file. To activate the system, you will need to provide your M.U.D. account number and the last four digits of your social security number to activate your on-line account. Once you complete and submit the enrollment form, M.U.D. will activate your service immediately. The system is secure and protected by the latest encryption technology. Commercial customers may use the one-time payment option to pay their bill on-line. Last October, M.U.D. began accepting credit card payments at the Downtown office. From October 1, 2007 to February 29, 2008, cashiers processed 5,827 credit card transactions totaling $1.1 million. Bill payment by credit card over the phone was added February 1. Phone payments during the month of February totaled $771,024. To use the bill payment by phone option, please call 554.6666, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. M.U.D. provides safe drinking water to 194,809 customers in the Omaha metro area. The fifth largest public gas utility in the U.S., the District also serves natural gas to 207,553 customers in Omaha, Bennington, Fort Calhoun, Springfield, Yutan and 85 percent of Bellevue. |
