Cavanaugh elected Board chair for 2007

Tim Cavanaugh

The Metropolitan Utilities Board of Directors elected Tim Cavanaugh chairman for 2007 at their January 3 meeting. A retired captain with the Omaha Police Department, he currently serves as chief deputy of the Douglas County Treasurer’s Office. Cavanaugh, was appointed by the board in 1999 to fill the unexpired term of his father, William Cavanaugh, who died. He won election to the board in 2002.

Tom Dowd

Tom Dowd was elected vice-chair. He is senior partner with Dowd, Howard and Corrigan, Attorneys-at Law. Dowd won his first election to the board in 1974, and has been re-elected four times serving, 28 years on the board.
