Scott Keep promoted to senior vice-president of Operations

The Metropolitan Utilities District Board of Director has promoted Scott L.Keep to senior vice-president of Operations, succeeding Jerry E. Gohr, who retires August 1 with 35 years of service.

A 24-year M.U.D. veteran, Keep began his career in the Engineering Department. He was named assistant superintendent of the Florence Water Treatment Plant in 1983; supervisor of the Liquefied Natural Gas Plant in1985, and administrative assistant to the General Manager in 1987.

Two years later, he was promoted to manager of the Marketing and Corporate Planning Department. In 1989, he advanced to manager of Marketing and Mechanical Service.

A native of Shenandoah, IA, and a 1980 graduate of Iowa State University, Keep earned a bachelors degree in civil engineering. He is a registered professional engineer and a member of the following organizations:

  • Sarpy Co. Economic Development Corp., vice-president
  • Ralston Chamber of Commerce: Business person of the Year 2003; president, 1995
