2.23.02 Thank you metro Omaha Thank you metro Omaha for your generous and caring response to the Round-it-Up at Baker's Supermarkets, February 4-17. Your generosity generated $20,910 for the Heat Aid Fund. Thanks also to Baker's Supermarkets, KETV, Mix 96 and Sweet 98 Radio Stations, and the Salvation Army for their promotion efforts to help make the Round-it-Up a success. Since it was established in 1983 by M.U.D., more than 16,000 older adults, and physically and mentally-challenged people received Heat Aid assistance. M.U.D. contracts with the Salvation Army to administer the Fund. Last winter, 1,855 households received nearly $502,000 to help with utility bills. Even though gas costs are lower than last winter, and we're experiencing warmer than normal winter temperatures, the need is still there. Thank you again. |
